Pride Stables is excited to announce that they will be running their spring session and is looking for volunteers to participate in this unique opportunity. As a volunteer, you will have the chance to work with horses, children, and individuals with special needs.
Volunteers are needed to lead horses or side-walk for riders with special needs for our fall session of classes which will run for 8 weeks starting late September. Volunteers will be responsible for leading horses or side-walking for riders with special needs for a period of 60 minutes. The classes will run during the day, evening, and on Saturdays. Prior horse experience is not required, as hands-on orientation training will be provided.
As a leader or side-walker, you will need to understand and follow instructions, possess good verbal skills, and have excellent comprehension. Physical endurance is also required, as volunteers will need to groom and tack-up their horse 30 minutes before class, as well as untack after class.
Volunteers are asked to commit to at least one class per week for the 8-week session. To become a volunteer, interested individuals must attend one of our orientation training sessions. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited. The minimum age to volunteer is 15 years old.
The upcoming orientation training sessions are available on the website. If you would like to register for a training date, please email or call with your name and phone number, and confirm that you meet/exceed the minimum age threshold.
